Blessed with Bags & Bikes

The children we serve face a lot in their young lives, and they may not always get the chance to just be kids. A recent donation of 15 bicycles and 30 “Sweet Cases” (customized duffle bags filled with a blanket, Teddy Bear, toothbrush, coloring book, and crayons) will help them do just that. Corvias Group collaborated with Together We Rise and assembled the bicycles and duffles as part of a corporate team building event, and Children in Placement is thrilled to be the beneficiary of the project.

“One of my kids was telling me how he wished he had a bike just the week before”, says Brittany Thorley, Director of Volunteers in New Haven. “It seemed meant to be that I suddenly had a way to give him one”.

2017 National CASA Conference

Last week our Executive Director went to Seattle to attend the National CASA Conference!

She learned all about the powerful impact that CASA volunteers are making around the country- our volunteers have a profound, positive influence on the lives of America’s children! She also got a chance to hear from Judge David Soukup in person— he is the judge who created the very first CASA program in 1977. What an honor!

CASA Dodgeball Tournament

This weekend, the amazing women of Kappa Alpha Theta at Quinnipiac University put on a hugely successful Dodgeball Tournament to benefit CASA!

Our Director, Lindsey Price Jackson, got to attend the event and introduce everyone to our program.

What a FUN time! Thanks, Thetas! We love your support and enthusiasm!

Spring Training Dates Announced

This Spring we are hosting a much-anticipated Blended Training for prospective CASA/GAL Volunteers! A Blending Training means that, in lieu of our standard 40-hour training during business hours, this Spring’s training will be held online with 6 in-person evening sessions in New Haven. Training begins in April !

Spots for our Blended Training are filling up very quickly, so contact us to submit your Volunteer Application today!

CASA Honored at Giants Game

In December, Children In Placement/CASA of CT’s new Executive Director, Lindsey Price Jackson, represented CASA programming from the tri-state area along with the Directors from the New Jersey and New York City CASA programs, by accepting a generous donation from Wendy’s to help support our mission to support children in foster care.

Thank you, Wendy’s and The New York Football Giants!
